The Ski Renter, Coronavirus, and You, Our Customer

The coronavirus is impacting all of our communities. As owners of The Ski Renter, we have done our best to comply with the recommendations, guidelines, and directives governing our business activities during this period. After a relatively dry January and February, it’s ironic that we finally got great snow at just about the same time that we were directed to shelter-in-place! However, at this time, it is far better to do what we can to slow the spread of this virus to keep from overwhelming our health services while they work to develop a vaccine and more effective treatment for those who are infected.

Please continue to shelter-in-place, go out as little as possible, and maintain social distancing. When you do go out, wear gloves and cover your face. Donate blood if you are able and wash your hands a lot! The Ski Renter is now closed for the season, along with all of the Sierra ski resorts, and most of the nonessential businesses in our communities.

Unbeknownst to us, GoFundMe, working with Yelp, launched a COVID-19 Small Business Relief initiative to help support small businesses. We did not initiate this, but we very much want to thank those of you who have contributed to this fund on our behalf, and would like you to know that those funds received will be distributed to our employees to help them during this period. If you’re interested in supporting our employees, you can do so with the link below.

For over 40 years The Ski Renter has offered the best ski and snowboard rental inventory in Silicon Valley. Our goal is and always has been to provide quality service and quality equipment at competitive prices, and to be proud, contributing members of the Cupertino Community. We will get through this, and there will be another ski season next year.

Think snow! And be safe!
George and Kathy Denise, Owners of The Ski Renter of Cupertino
